Sports and Intellectual Property: Innovation Competition
As part of World Intellectual Property Day, Ondokuz Mayıs University and Samsun University are collaborating to organise the “Sports and Intellectual Property: Innovation Competition.”
World Intellectual Property Day, celebrated annually on April 26 by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO), has set the theme for 2026 as “Sports and Intellectual Property”. The competition, organised around this theme, aims to encourage creative, original ideas from high school and university students in the fields of sports technology and innovation.
Inspired by the spirit of May 19 Atatürk Commemoration, Youth, and Sports Day, the competition invites young people to generate ideas in sports, technology, and innovation.
Open to high school and university students in the province of Samsun, the competition will award prizes to entries selected by the jury.

Eligibility Requirements and Prizes
High school and university students from the province of Samsun are eligible to apply for the competition.
- Applications may be submitted individually or as a team.
- Teams may consist of up to 3 members.
- Teams may apply with an advisory teacher (high school) or an advisory faculty member (university). A participant may be part of up to 3 different applications.
Applications will be accepted exclusively online via the “Sports and Intellectual Property: Innovation Competition Application Form”. Applications will be evaluated by a jury of experts in the field based on criteria of innovation and feasibility. Prizes will be awarded separately in the high school and university categories in the form of cash or gift cards.
🥇 First Place Prize – 30,000 ₺
🥈 Second Place Prize – 20,000 ₺
🥉 Third Place Prize – 10,000 ₺

Tuesday, March 23, 2026 – Announcement of the Competition
May 8, 2026 – Completion of Online Applications
May 13, 2026 – Announcement of Results
May 15, 2026 – Award Ceremony
